Making your Appointment

  • Our appointment system works to book twenty minute appointments.

  • Please ring two days in advance if you require a repeat prescription. Allow 24 hours for us to process your request. Our phone repeat prescription fee is $5.00 per script. Please note, most pharmacies charge a $2 fax fee.

  • Priority will be given to patients who have urgent health problems (e.g. a possible heart attack or a feverish child).

Your Consultation

Prior to your consultation - Please be aware that a consultation is 20mins - if you have multiple concerns you may need to make a double appointment of re-book.

  • Open weekdays, Monday to Friday.

  • 9:00am to 4:00pm

Payment

Ki A Ora Ngātiwai Medical Centre accepts : EFTPOS, Cash and Automatic Payments. When visiting the clinic, please check into reception upon arrival, this will avoid extra wait times.

Repeat Prescriptions

  • NOTE: When requesting a repeat prescription, it may take up to 2 working days to process your request.

  • All prescriptions will be charged a $5 Fee except for prescriptions issued at the time of a GP consultation.

  • Patients that are not enrolled with Ki A Ora Ngātiwai will not receive Repeat Prescriptions.

  • Urgent Same Day Prescriptions can be made at a fee of $10.

Your Test Results
When you have an investigation (a blood test, urine test, x-ray, ultrasound) the results of these investigations can take different lengths of time to be returned to us.
Ki A Ora Ngātiwai Medical Centre will ONLY contact you if your results are abnormal. We do not call if results are normal.  

Forms

From time to time you may have forms/paperwork that need filling in. For some of these you will be required to see the doctor. For others, the doctor will fill the form in without seeing you. Please give us the form as soon as you receive it, so that we can provide a timely service (plan ahead). You should expect to leave the form with us for several days. If a charge is required you will be advised of this when you enquire at the reception.

Referrals

When the doctor is unable to complete a referral(s) to specialists within the consultation time, or where you request a referral to a specialist or specialists, Ki A Ora Ngātiwai Medical Centre reserves the right to charge a Referral Fee for each of these referrals.

Complaints

Ki A Ora Ngātiwai Medical Centre respects the right of patients to complain if our services are not up to standard. If you have an issue, tell a member of staff and/or fill in a Complaints Form (held at reception). Our process is as follows:

Step 1
Our Clinical Manager is our Complaints Officer. Our Complaints Officer receives and investigates all complaints and will follow through on a Complaint/Incident Report which has been filled in by the staff/patient taking the complaint. The Complaints Officer will then proceed and verbally communicate with the patient and staff member involved.

Step 2

In investigating the incident/complaint the aim is to achieve a mutually satisfactory conclusion and to ensure the situation does not arise again. If a patient feels Ki A Or Ngātiwai Medical Centre is not dealing adequately with the Incident/Complaint they have the right to approach the Health & Disability Advocacy Northland on 09 430 0166. All Incidents and Complaints are kept on file.
